The actual salon itself is situated in the town centre, right near the railway station and a bus station, which I think is one of the weirdest places to have a day spa.. But, hey. When you actually get in you totally forget where you are. There’s ambient light, soft music, reaaaally comfortable chairs in their waiting area – far from the world outside (which was a crappy, rainy afternoon otherwise.)
I was talked through what was going to happen by one of Kavala’s therapists and then was left in the room to remove my top and take my bra straps down, but leaving my bra on and leaving myself covered with a towel. These kind of things don’t really bother me, but I can see that other people might be a bit worried about another person seeing their body. In honesty, the therapist doesn’t see anything. You’re basically lying on a really comfortable chez-longue/bed kinda thing and essentially tucked in to the towel, as if you’re laying in bed, with just your shoulders above the cover. So really, there’s nothing to worry about.
Now, I can’t tell you exactly what went on because I was so damn chilled out, it is so relaxing.. They have music or you can bring your own, but I like the kinda relaxation music they had going on so I was happy with that. The therapist talked me through every step of the way, but that was because I told her I was going to type this up on my blog. At your request they can either talk to you and let you know what’s going on, or just be quiet and let you enjoy the facial.
I had a myriad of treatments, including Vitamin-C booster serums, a steam pore-opening treatment, some amazing smelling orange and citrus oils massaged in to my skin (I have oily skin, so you think “oil?! What?” But trust me, it works.. Somehow it clears up the excess oil produced itself by the skin,) and I also had a Papaya Enzymatic peel, which smelled of pineapples and was very mild, as I had recently had a few breakouts and the therapist didn’t want to aggravate my skin, otherwise she would have gone with a stronger exfoliator.

Following this I had a Japanese Sulphur Mask placed on my face which felt very odd, but quite similar to clay masks. It was wonderful over my temples and really helped me relax. Especially as, following this, I was given a head, arm and hand massage! I was in heaven.
After the treatment and after I re-dressed myself I looked in the mirror and was actually shocked. I had noticably less blackheads and the redness from some of my spots had definitely gone down. But the thing I noticed the most? The dark circles around my eyes had pretty much subsided – and they stayed like that for about two weeks (my sleep pattern is atrocious, I always get dark eyes.) But I wanted to touch my face all the time, obviously a stupid thing to do for someone with oily skin like myself, it was just soooooo soft! Argh, I want another one!

I’ve been there once before but never wrote a review about it was it was really near when I first started blogging. I had a foot massage last time and I LOOOOOVED it. I can say that Kavala is consistent with their quality of products and treatments. I even got a little bag of samples to take home with me and try on myself – something every customer who gets an Elemis facial gets to take away with them. I haven’t used them all yet but the ones I have used are lovely.

This whole thing lasted just over an hour, for £50 I would say that is WELL worth it. If you pay another £25 you can get a back massage with it also, which I could only imagine is fantastic. I’m definitely going to be returning to Kavala in the future and when I do I’ll post here, but for now… I just have to say – wow.

I’m probably going to ask my Mum to buy me some Kavala gift vouchers for Christmas because for what you get the prices are actually really, really good.

I like Bonmarche because their prices are fairly low, which is always a plus in my book. I think Bonmarche offer clothing up to a size 24 on the majority of their items so I would say that they definitely cross in to plus size territory and hopefully you guys can find something worth a look.
I will keep an eye on them as they start to bring more modern and trendy pieces in to their range.

I have been waiting for these leggings for AGES. Finally I managed to secure them through my friends at Ann Summers so that I could do a review. These are the Elisa leggings in a size 18. They have rectangular cut outs up the side, ALL the way up the side (can’t wear anything too short over them unless you’re comfortable sharing your underwear, or lack of, with the world,) and they kind of remind me of my Simply Be leggings that have slits up them, but these are waaaaaaay nicer.

Not only do they have cut outs, but they are also wet look. I recently bought a cheap pair of wet look leggings to try out and they were so shit I couldn’t be arsed to do a review, they were like £6 from eBay, what did I expect? Well, THESE are WAAAAAAAAAAAY better. The material isn’t itchy, the fabric between the cut outs is actually kind of elasticated and the cut outs sit just on the side of my legs, slightly towards the front. Granted, this isn’t the best picture of them because I wanted to show the cut outs as best I could, but they are SEXY.

Also, lol, how different do I look with black eyeliner on? The guy I’m seeing loves it. I’m not sure. Even with Urban Decay primer potion black eyeliner/shadow (I usually use black eyeshadow and a brush because liner looks stupid on me,) always tends to smudge and blur, NOT in a sexy smokey look :/ Hm. Ah well.

Anyway, this jumper <3 I got it from Evans in a 20/22 and it's by Studio NY. Now, I don't really understand jumpers that have short sleeves, however I will probably just end up putting a long sleeved white top underneath it and layer it (hm, good idea Devon, gotta try that..) Green is my favourite colour. It has stripes, I don't care, they look fine, I actually like stripes so anyone who tells you not to wear stripes then fuck them, do what you want.

I thought I’d include two nails posts too, these are from the new China Glaze Let It Snow collection;


Shiny, I know.

The first is Velvet Bow, which is a deep burgandy-red. I really like this, it’s fairly subtle (for a red.) I think some reds really make my hands look yellow, but this one is fairly good at avoiding that territory.

The second being Winter Berry. This is the kind of red that Velvet Bow is not. I don’t really like it that much because I feel it looks too bright for me and doesn’t suit my skin tone very well.

That said, it is a classic “Christmas” red, and perhaps with a white nail-art pen it could be used for some cute winter party nails.

Just to show a comparison of the two.

Both of the polishes went on with two/three coats and weren’t too runny or thick.
Only problem with Velvet Bow was when it came to take it off. This happened;

Even though I used a base coat of China Glaze’s First And Last I had pink fingers for a few days. Bleh.

And, because I love my DSLR so much, here’s a picture of a rose that the man I’m currently seeing gifted me. He’s sweet and very supportive in all aspects of my life, this isn’t the place for detail but I’ll just say that for people who followed me before this time last year will be able to tell I’m in a very different place than when I was this time last year. A better place.

The duffle coat is so nice, it looks so warm! Most of my coats are just normal, waterproof material (I dunno what it actually is..) but this faux suede with the faux fur/fleece almost makes me feel warm just by looking at it. I don’t really need a new coat so I can’t justify buying it, but damn, I would otherwise.
The cardigan’s style is something I’ve seen in several retailers lately – the faux fur on knit, I think it works really well. Again, I have so many cardigans I can’t justify buying it either, buuuuut.. It looks all snuggly :D
As for the boots, well, if you’ve followed me for a while you’d know that I pretty much only wear boots. Unfortunately these wouldn’t fit my calves, but I wish so much that they would :( They look so cool, I love knee-ish-length boots but I don’t own a pair due to my massive legs. Oh well, a girl can dream :(

I really like the Anna Scholz dress, because I love the frill that goes down the side. It reminds me of my favourite dress which I lost (which was a strapless mesh-green dress with a ruffle going down the front/side,) and the colour is nice too :D
The Joe Browns dress I can’t find on an actual model, but I’ve been looking at this dress for a while via the Simply Be website and I’m really thinking of getting it when I actually get some money, it looks really nice and I can imagine the shape is fantastic.
As for the tunic, well I like tunics. I don’t need to say anymore ;P But, seriously, I really enjoy wearing tunics and jeggings or jeans, they’re easy outfits and due to the fact that the tunic is long enough you can wear leggings with it in the warmer weather or go for jeggings in the cold, which will be perfect because the weather has gone to crap here really!

Short and sweet, that’s my first current want list, I’ll be doing a couple more over the next few days and hopefully when I get some money I can actually review some of them.

Basically it’s a vest attached to a mesh overlay, however it’s not annoying and fiddly (sometimes I get really angry with clothes that are a dress-within-a-dress (or top-within-a-top,) because they get all fiddly when you’re trying to put them on or after you’ve washed them and are just trying to hang them up.. ARGH >_< Hate that.
But that's not true about this top, which is a huuuuuuuuuuuuge bonus for me (seriously, it can make or break the sale of an item for me.) Anyway. Lovedrobe is a brand that's sold both through Style369 and Evans themselves, in fact I'm pretty sure this top was also being sold by Evans, as is the case with a lot of the "younger" stuff of the two stores, they cross over.
So, considering I don't have much money (need to buy new clothes and I also have taken to spending my money on paying for travel to see people, go out, etc. rather than spending it all on Asos, don't worry though, there will be more fashion,) I thought I could spare the £10 or however much it was for the top.

I would say that even though this is an 18/20 and I’m currently a comfortable 18 that the sizing on this dress is actually a little big. I would say the fit could be 22/24, actually. I know it’s meant to be draped and such but even taking that in to account it’s a wee bit on the big side. I dunno if this is a thing that runs with Lovedrobe or if it’s just this top, but just be careful. Does anyone else have any experiences with the Lovedrobe brand? Maybe you can share this, I would be most appreciative.

Anyway, it also comes with this cute chain/belt, it has a tassel on the end (bad picture, sorry, I took these before I got my DSLR a few weeks ago,) and it’s fastened by a clasp which can clip on to any of the chained parts so you can make it as tight or as loose as you like. The belt isn’t attached to the top so you can even use it for outfits (which I shall!)

The dress itself is obviously made to look very floaty, and it is. However I think it makes me look bigger than I am, which doesn’t really bother me that much because I still think it looks good, but for those who like to make themselves look smaller (everyone has different tastes, different sizes and different ideas on what compliments their figure,) this dress is probably a bad idea. However, it is nice and comfortable.

Moving on.. You should know by now that Magpies are my favourite animals. If you didn’t know then look at my blog header or my business cards >P

It’s from a company called Wolf and Moon, I only found out about them because I googled “magpie necklace” and it came up. When I saw it I instantly bought it. It only cost me £10 and– OH MY GOD THEY HAVE MAGPIE BROOCHES. I have only just realised this while typing up this post and I have no money O_O I think I know what I’m gonna buy when I get paid..
Ahem.

Yeah, this perspex necklace is so bloody cute. What makes it better is that it’s not overly delicate. The Magpie itself is quite thick, it has two layers of perspex and is probably approx 75mm thick. The layers are black on white, with the black being cut to show the white markings.

You know what it is, black and yellow.

Liquid Leather. I don’t own a black nail polish. Well, I do, but it has glitter in it. THIS is proper black. There’s no blue overtones, no red, just pure black.

I like this polish, it dries shiny and not matte, it goes on perfectly in two coats and it even comes off without staining (providing you use an undercoat.) I thought I’d pair it with my layering polish, which is called Rainbow by GOSH.

I also have this nice yellow, Electric Pineapple. I don’t actually own any other yellows, I own several golds that may come close, but this is unique.

The colour took three coats to reach opaque-ness but went on smooth and non-clumpy. It’s not too runny either, which sometimes seems to be a bit of a problem with the lighter pastel-coloured polishes. Again, it doesn’t stain when coming off and has quite a natural shine to it (pictures above are without a topcoat.) I’m thinking about pairing it with the black to see what they look like together, it might look like I have bees on my fingers though (and I’m scared of flying insects. Eep.)

I’ve also managed to get my hands on China Glaze’s new A/W11 Let It Snow collection, which I’ll be reviewing over the next few days.

As for fashion.. I have no bloody money. I’m really struggling at the moment to find some decent clothes to put up for you guys, mainly because everything I like this season is too expensive. Grr. But fear not, I WILL find something. Watch this space.
