Not very long ago I reviewed a swimsuit from Simply Be in this post. That swimsuit retails at ~£120, so I thought I’d show you all a more moderately priced alternative.

This swim dress is from SwimsuitsForAll.com. They are a swim and beach wear company specialising in providing cute clothing for us plus size ladies! Of course, the main reason I got this is because it’s green, but the cut looks so cute aswell!
The dress isn’t too blowy, so in water I can imagine it being relatively manageable. Some swim dresses seem to bubble up and look stupid when they hit the water but this one is well designed as to stop that from happening. Despite this being a fraction of my last swimsuit’s price it still skims the lumps without being tent-like in appearance.

It also does a fairly good job on managing my back fat! The straps are thick, though I have one twisted on there which I didn’t realise until I uploaded the picture. This means that the weight is distributed evenly without cutting in to your shoulders or the opposite – feeling as if they’re going to slide off. Although I will be using my blue, expensive swimming costume for actual swimming, this dress would be lovely to hit the beach with and play in the sea.
It could use a little more padding and structure around the breasts, but I feel it is designed for women with larger busts than myself as I don’t completely fill it out. The shorts that are hidden by the dress don’t cut in to your thighs or crotch area, which can otherwise be an issue for some of us bigger girls, I know.
I also picked up a cute maxi-dress coverup;
I’m not a huge fan of wearing all-black so the electric blue stripes on this dress please me! It’s a halter neck but that part is removable so you could easily wear it as a strapless dress. It’s made of a crinkly crepe-like material which makes it very light and airy, perfect for throwing on over a swimming costume. It’d look cute with some flip-flops, so perfect for the coming summer (if we ever get one..) It doesn’t look expensive, it doesn’t claim to be either; I hate clothes that try to look high quality when they’re more average; what you see is what you get. The length is perfect on me, bearing in mind that I am 5’4.5″.
SwimsuitsForAll.com have a lot of lovely costumes and cover ups at different price ranges, however I will say that you get what you pay for, which is fair enough! I wouldn’t know how well this swimming costume would hold up in high-chlorine public pools or through multiple uses in the sea, but it is perfect for casually playing around on the beach and chilling out while topping up your tan (careful of tan lines though!)

I love both! The length on the swimsuit is great:) Usually I find the dress length super short and with no coverage but this one is perfect. The dress is something that I’ve been hunting for. Tie dye + black = a winner! You can totally add a jean jacket and black boots and take it into pre-fall:)
pretty! love this swimsuit on you, nice colors and very flattering and that MAXI dress, omg,SO SO nice!!!! :D
