More ruffles!

Aren’t you guys lucky? Three posts in a week! This is just a short one today. I got this dress from Dorothy Perkins, I think I’m going to wear it on Wednesday when I do my presentation (wish me luck,) in uni. What annoyed me though was the day after I ordered DP announced 20% off of their “new in” section so I could have got it cheaper as I only had a 15% off code at the time. Oh well.
Y’all know I’m loving ruffles at the moment, I’m trying to stay away from black too because I have lots of black dresses and they can get boring sometimes. This dress is navy so it’s not black! Yay!

Ruffle dress

I got it in a UK22, DP’s biggest size and my “normal” size (of course it depends on the garment and shop.) It was a liiiiittle bit tight getting it on, but that’s probably because I didn’t realise it had a zip down by one of the arm holes until I took it off (duh.)

Ruffle dress

It’s quite pretty but it would be nice if Dorothy Perkins could offer it in different colours. Perhaps a nude or a green (I love green.) Something bright would be nice!

Apologies about my hair looking bad, it’s a little wet in the pics.

This might sound catty, but I think you would benefit from some makeup. Your clothing is phenomenal, but it looks unfinished without a polished face. You have wonderful natural features that would do well to be played up to be as dramatic as your clothing. :)

That’s not catty at all, I appreciate the advice. I’ve never worn make-up because I like being low-maintainence but I will play around and consider it in the future :) Thank you!

Oh, I am low maintenance myself! I really just do a concealer with a built-in brush (saves time), a good thickening/lengthening mascara, and powder or some stick foundation. Unless I’ve got a special event, I really do not want to be bothered with anything ornate, so I definitely understand. Anything more than 4-5 minutes total for makeup time is too much for me :)

I’ll definitely think about it and try a few things next time I get the chance :)

Thank you very much, I’m waiting for more green to come out in the clothing shops but everyone’s focussing on black/dark blue or nude :( Where’s all the green?!

I think that dress looks great from the front, and I love it with the leggings. But, why is it so much shorter in the back? That just seems odd…

I was pulling it forward a little by accident I think. I’m not sure that it was really made for fatter people as I have a big belly and a big booty, which may well explain the lack of length in the back. It’s the largest size they do as it’s part of a “straight” size line. Still, it’s not too bad :)

I’m so jealous of how long and glorious your hair is! I love the dress especially the drapey hem, I wish I could squeeze into DP’s fitted dresses.

      Thank you!
Sometimes I find they can be hit and miss :(
